Miyabi
Miyabi
“Miyabi” is one of the oldest of the traditional Japanese aesthetic ideals. The term “miyabi” was used to express the image of the ideal aristocratic culture. The manners, diction, expression, atmosphere, feelings and other elements eliminated all roughness and crudity so as to achieve the highest grace. In modern Japanese, the word is usually translated to words such as “elegance,” “refinement,” or “courtliness.”
