- Description
A sacred mountain, Mt. Fuji floating in a sea of clouds and dyed red with extremely solemn radiance, is depicted. Red Mt. Fuji, which is quite rare to be seen throughout a year, has been revered as a miraculous sight since ancient times. In this work, Nishiwaki Hanka, a painter who specializes in landscape paintings, beautifully depicts this miraculous scene with his outstanding painting skills. The use of gold paint on the surface of Mt. Fuji to express its godliness is superb. This is truly an excellent work of art, even along with another exquisite way of making the fog look shaded, allowing the audience to see easily why Nishiwaki Hanka’s landscape paintings are that popular.
