- Description
Sheer cliffs are filled with deep fog. A line of waterfalls is cascading bravely down from the rough rock face, along with the trees, which empower a life force. This work was painted by Nakazawa Juhō, a master of sumi ink painter, who has shown his outstanding talent for landscape paintings. He, in the work, used only exquisite gradations of blur and shades of sumi ink to depict the magnificent nature of deep mountain valleys in a striking manner with his magnificent brush strokes. This is a masterpiece of tranquility and yet powerful brushwork that beautifully expresses the unmistakable sense of life in a quiet, remote place as well as the beauty of the mysterious, which is truly worthy of being called “ethereal beauty.”
