“Setsu Getsu Ka” refers to snow, moon, and flowers, meaning “beautiful scenery of nature”. The term has been used since ancient times in Japan, which have various beautiful changes in nature from season to season. This work features a calligraphic work of “Setsu Getsu Ka” by Sakai Hōichi, an artist popular for his unique calligraphy and paintings. It is a respectable piece: Every Chinese character seems to be designed with vigorous lines as if each has its own characteristics while complements one another to enhance the overall appeal of the work.
