- Description
Katsunobu Kawahito, a Japanese-style painter, creates many paintings in a number of genres: landscapes, “kachō-ga” (paintings of flowers and birds), Buddhist paintings, portraits, and so on. A noteworthy fact is that all his works have distinct characteristics; his wide knowledge and sense of humour are seen in all his paintings. The soul he puts into his work makes each piece meaningful.
This is a painting of priests cleaning with calligraphy by Katsunobu Kawahito. The calligraphy of a poem written by Katsunobu Kawahito. This work influenced by the Confucian’s “Gogyou shisou” (Five Element Theory) is very interesting. Of course the depiction of the priests is concise and to the point. This is a wonderful work of art.
