Kishi Tesshin (1928- ) is a Zen monk, who served as the chief priest at the Dōsenji Temple (Sōtō sect, Mt. Ryūtoku). Born in Gifu Pref. Studied under Kumazawa Taizen, the 16th chief abbot of the Sōji-ji temple and the 73rd chief abbot of the Eihei-ji temple.

Kishi Tesshin is a Zen monk, who served as the chief priest at the Dōsenji Temple (Sōtō sect, Mt. Ryūtoku). He is known as an expert calligrapher, whose soft and elegant style of calligraphy is popular, with many people attracted to his works.
This work features the characters “Kōjitsu” written by Kishi Tesshin to indicate a peaceful and tranquil day. The letters in soft calligraphic style with wishing for peace and tranquility in this world, is seemingly showing Kishi Tesshin’s gentle personality.
