- Description
The steep cliffs in the misty mountains are beautifully expressed by the Japanese-style painter Nonaka Shihō, who had a distinctive style of painting with an emphasis on sketching. He skillfully used the shades of sumi ink to make the viewer feel the quiet natural world. The depictions of a bird drawn in the center of the painting and the waterfall drawn in the lower right of the painting give a sense of dynamism to the entire work.
