Repair of a Kakejiku with Severe Creases and Wrinkles | Australia
One of the most common inquiries we receive about kakejiku repairs concerns creases and wrinkles.
Kakejiku are rolled up for storage, making them compact and easy to transport.
However, this also makes them prone to creases and wrinkles.
While minor issues may go unnoticed, severe creases not only interfere with the enjoyment of the artwork but can also lead to damage to the kakejiku itself, making timely repairs essential.
This time, we received a request from a male customer residing in Australia to repair a kakejiku that had developed severe creases. We are delighted that this customer, who has used our services before, has entrusted us with a new project.
Below is the kakejiku that was brought to our attention:
As you can see, the creases were quite severe. If left untreated, the artwork could start tearing from these creases. We are glad we could repair it before that happened.
